Request that the Board waive the $1,200 campaign finance late fee assessed against Tunica Biloxi Indians PAC, a political action committee, and its committee's chairperson, David Rivas, Jr., whose July 2021 Monthly Report campaign finance report was filed 6 days late. |
|
David Rivas, Jr., chairperson for the PAC, requests a waiver and states the following:
He requests a waiver of this fine as the delay to their reporting was directly affected due to Covid-19. On July 26, 2021, several of the tribal government employees tested positive for Covid 19 and the Chairman of the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe at the direction of their Chief Medical Officer shut down the government office until further notice. Due to the shutdown, it caused the collection of information required for their monthly reporting to become delayed as employees were out due to Covid. Reports were generated as soon as possible. The office returned to work on September 8, 2021.
