RE:
Request that the Board waive a $280 campaign finance late fee assessed against Education Reform Now Advocacy, an organization that participated in the October 14, 2017 election, whose 10-P campaign finance disclosure report was filed 7 days late.
Facts:
Mary C. Hoffman, report preparer for the organization, requests a waiver and states the following: Their office received a late fee assessment for the October 14, 2017 election dated July 22, 2021. They state they called the office regarding this and were told they never received a return notice from the US Postal Service in 2017. Since that election, they state they have received several requests from this office and have updated all address changes on all reports. They state that they find it odd that the Board did not have their correct address and that they would not receive this notice until 45 months later. They state that they closed the book long ago for the elections in 2017. They ask that the Board waive the fee due to the late notice.
