Request to waive the $1,500 late fee assessed against Marcus Thomas for filing his 2022 lobbying registration 61 days late. |
|
Mr. Thomas states he is in the second year of lobbying for the Louisiana Association of Educators. Mr. Thomas states he made an honest mistake of entering the wrong information into the system while registering on March 10, 2022. He properly registered three lobbyists for LAE dated March 10, 2022, but when it was time to register himself at that same time, he entered January 1, 2022 as his first action date instead of March 10, 2022, which was his intention.
Staff Notes: Mr. Thomas started his registration on January 25, 2022 and entered in his first action date as January 1, 2022. However, he did not complete the registration process until he submitted the payment on March 10, 2022. The registrations for the other three lobbyists he referenced were started and completed in March 2022.
