RE:
Waiver request submitted by Lawrence Batiste, Jr, former member of the Natchitoches City Council / District 4 / Natchitoches Parish, regarding a $500 late fee assessed for filing his 2020 Tier 3 annual pfd 186 days late.
Facts:
Mr. Batiste states that he unsuccessfully ran for re-election in 2020, in which he received contributions totaling $1,000 and only spent $1,015. He has no recollection of receiving the notice of delinquency for the 2020 PFD. He is asking for a waiver of all of the late fee or at least a portion of the assessed late fee. He is a 71 year old school teacher living on a fixed income. He states that with today's inflation affecting the price of items, he is having difficulty making ends meet.
