The City of Shreveport employs Mr. Mack. While maintaining his employment, he applied to participate in state sponsored career advancement programs that are made possible by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. His application was denied through his local Louisiana Workforce Commission Office allegedly because he is an active/current City of Shreveport employee. The LWC represented that it would be an ethics violation for him to participate in the sought after programming.
