The Parks and Recreation Department for the City of DeRidder
maintains and runs the city pool and the baseball field concession stand, which
are both seasonal. The city pool and baseball field concession stands require hiring 15-20 teenagers, aged 15
and up. The Director would like to have a sign-on bonus and/or referral bonus
to obtain the help needed to run both establishments. The Finance Department
stated that since the city is a municipality, the program would need to be
offered across all departments.

La. R.S. 42:1111A provides that no public servant shall receive anything of
economic value, other than compensation and benefits from the governmental
entity to which he is duly entitled, for the performance of the duties and
responsibilities of his office or position.
