Lee Dragna is the Mayor of Morgan City (the "City"). Mayor Dragna's son-in-law, Joshua Glenn Hudson, has applied for employment with the Department as a police officer. He has been employed by the Department in the past, but is not a current employee of the Department.
The position of Chief of Police is not an elected position.

La. R.S. 42:1119B states that no member of the immediate family of a member of a governing authority or the chief executive of a governmental entity shall be employed by the governmental entity.
La. R.S. 42:1102(9) defines "elected official" to mean any person holding an office in a governmental entity which is filled by the vote of the appropriate electorate.
La. R.S. 42:1102(12) defines "governmental entity" to mean the state or any political subdivision which employs the public employee or employed the former public employee or to which the elected official is elected, as the case may be.
La. R.S. 42:1102(13) defines "immediate family" as the term relates to a public servant to mean his children, the spouses of his children, his brothers and their spouses, his sisters and their spouses, his parents, his spouse, and the parents of his spouse.
