Request that the Board waive the $800 and $80 for a total of $880 campaign finance late fees assessed against Ann G. Arata, an unsuccessful candidate for Member of School Board, District 2, City of Bogalusa in the November 8, 2022 election, whose 30-P and 10-P campaign finance disclosure reports were filed 22 and 2 days late, respectively.
Facts:
Ann G. Arata and M. Damian Marinello request a waiver and states the following: Upon returning from a medical emergency on 10/13/2022, she attempted to fax the 30-P report, but the fax line was busy. She contacted BOE, was advised to email the report and received delivery confirmation. She was unaware the report had not been received until she searched the website on 11/1/2022. Ms. Arata attempted to file her 10-P report on 11/2/2022, but the fax was busy again. Both reports were successfully submitted later that day by 8:36 p.m.

18:1505.4.A(1) Any candidate, the treasurer or chairman of a political committee, or any other person required to file any reports under this Chapter, who knowingly fails to file or who knowingly fails to timely file any such reports as are required by this Chapter may be assessed a civil penalty for each day until such report is filed.
