RE:
Request that the Board waive the $3,000 campaign finance late fee assessed against Jefferson Federation of Teachers Committee on Political Education, a political action committee, and its committee's chairperson, Sandra Hauer, in the November 8, 2022 election, whose 30-P campaign finance disclosure report was filed 101 days late.
Facts:
Robert J. Mora, on behalf of Sandra Hauer, Chairperson for PAC requests a waiver and states the following: Ms.Hauer is the current chairperson of the Jefferson Federation of Teachers COPE fund. She replaced Joe Potts, Jr. as chairperson in late 2022 after he abruptly announced his immediate resignation. Ms. Hauer was given no instructions or training on the committee reports. She filed all the needed reports immediately upon finding out she was required to file. Mr. Mora feels that Ms. Hauer had no forewarning and was suddenly put in a position without guidance and would appreciate it if consideration was given to waive the late fee assessment.
