Request that the Board waive the $80 campaign finance late fee assessed against Willie Washington, Jr., an unsuccessful candidate for Member of School Board, District 1, Lincoln Parish, in the November 8, 2022 election, whose 10-G campaign finance disclosure report was filed 1 day late. |

Willie Washington, Jr requests a waiver and states the following:
He reviewed his efforts to timely submit the required candidate report and realized that it was submitted before the 5:00 pm deadline. His report was faxed from First Horizon Bank to 225-381-7271, the number listed on the late fee notice dated 2/28/2023. The initial report was faxed on 11/30/2022 at 2:10 pm with no response. A second attempt was faxed on 12/2/2022 at 10:24 pm, which indicates the report was forwarded before the deadline. Mr. Washington states that during the filing period, he was in regular communication with a BOE employee making sure to submit the required forms on time, and was informed that the form needed to be faxed or uploaded. He would like to appeal the late fee and appreciates your consideration.
