Paul Landry serves on the Iberia Parish Council for
District 7. His brother is seeking employment as an inspector for the Iberia
Parish Planning and Zoning Department. The Iberia Parish Council handles the
budget for the Planning and Zoning Department, but the Administration handles
the other operations.
Currently, the Planning and Zoning Department
head is tasked with inspections, since the shortage of trained inspectors is
becoming a problem. Mr. Landry asks whether his brother can be employed with the
Planning and Zoning Department if Mr. Landry abstains from voting on his brother's salary. He also asks the timeline for employment if he resigns as Councilman.
