Request that the Board waive a $180 campaign finance late fee assessed against Lorenzo Davis, Sr., an unsuccessful candidate for Mayor, City of Alexandria, Rapides Parish in the November 8, 2022 election, whose 30-P campaign finance disclosure report was filed 3 days late. |
|
Lorenzo Davis, Sr. requests a waiver and states the following:
When qualifying with the Clerk of Court, in conversation he understood using his resources, the reporting process would be different. This motivated him to run a non-donor campaign. He contacted the BOE to receive guidance on filing. He was informed that the process of reporting campaign expenditures was the same as receiving donor funding. Mr. Davis didn't open a separate campaign account, which complicated the filing process. Due to this being his first time running for office, the research, organization, and gathering of his expenditures prolonged the filing process.
