Request that the Board waive the $280 campaign finance late fee assessed against Floyd Ford, in his capacity as a candidate for Alderman, District B, City of Opelousas, St. Landry Parish in the November 8, 2022 election, whose 40-G campaign finance disclosure report was filed 7 days late. |
|
Floyd Ford requests a waiver and states the following:
On 11/28/2022, he resigned from the seat he held as an Opelousas Alderman. He believed the last report that he filed was the final report related to his elected position. The St. Landry Parish Clerk of Court, Charles Jagneaux, stated that Mr. Ford and his opponent's names would remain on the ballot and the votes would not be counted, but they were in fact posted. Mr. Ford's report preparer was informed by a BOE representative that since the votes were counted the 40-G report should have been filed report. If he was not given the incorrect information he would have known to file the report. Mr. Ford hopes that the information given will grant him a one-time courtesy waiver and would like to thank you for your consideration.
