David McDavid requests a waiver and states the following:
He had a successful run for the office of Police Chief for the City of Zachary three times
and most recently ran for the office of Mayor for the City of Zachary. The most recent election in November of 2022 was the first contested election he had in over a decade. In his first and only other contested election, he did not face the circumstances of having to file another report. Ignorance of the requirement is not an excuse, but it is the reason. He has prepared each of his campaign reports on his own. Mr. McDavid would like to thank you for your consideration and ask that you consider waiving the fees. His aim moving forward is to meet all of his filing requirements.
