Request that the Board waive the two (2) $2,000 for a total of $4,000 campaign finance late fees assessed against Drake H. Graves, an unsuccessful candidate for State Representative,15th Representative District, in the October 12, 2019 election, whose 10-G and 2019 Supplemental campaign finance disclosure reports were filed 124 and 332 days late, respectively. |
|
Drake H. Graves requests a waiver and states the following:
He was a first-time candidate, running a grass roots campaign with little to no experience, and without the ability to pay a CPA to file his reports. He did his best to file all required reports up until he was no longer running for State Representative. Naturally, after he was unsuccessful in the General Election; to him his candidacy was over and did not require any further attention. His failure to make these filings was not out of disregard for policies set forth by the board. It was only after, he received a letter from the board that he was informed that this was necessary filing. Upon learning this was necessary, he took every effort to address and even completed an administrative hearing regarding the untimely filing of the Supplemental Report by February 18 2020.
