Request the Board reconsider its decision to decline to waive a $520 campaign finance late fee assessed against William E. "Bill" Willson, unopposed candidate for Member of School Board, District 3, City of Monroe, Ouachita Parish, in the November 8, 2022 election, whose 30-P campaign finance disclosure report was filed 13 days late. |
|
Original request stated:
He thought his Campaign Finance Report was due on 10/29/2022, ten days before the Election on 11/8/2022. He found out that since he ran unopposed, he should have filed on 10/15/2022. He filled out his report the same day of finding out it was past due. He would like to request a waiver of his late fee and penalties since he feels he made an understandable mistake.
Reconsideration request states:
His campaign treasurer passed away a year and a half ago. He contacted staff and was told his report was due 10/31/2022. Later, a fellow school board member told him if he was unopposed, he would only have to file the report on 10/31/2022. He contacted BOE staff again and was told he should have filed on 10/15/2022 and was previously given misinformation.
