Request that the Board waive the four (4) $1,000 campaign finance late fees ($4,000 total) assessed against Erick Falting, a successful candidate for Member of School Board, District 12, Bossier Parish in the November 8, 2022 election, whose 30-P, 10-P, 10-G and 2022 Supplemental campaign finance disclosure reports were filed 175, 155, 125 and 57 days late, respectively. |
|
Erick Falting requests a waiver and states the following: This was his first-time participating in politics. Other school board members ran unopposed, which meant he was unable to receive guidance or answers to several important questions regarding campaign regulations. He took every reasonable step to seek information from various sources, but the lack of clarity and guidance left him unable to make fully informed decisions. Mr. Falting is a single father with 2 full-time jobs and responsibilities on the school board. This has been overwhelming. Despite his commitment, he failed to timely file reports. He regrets this unintentional violation and will take necessary steps to prevent such oversights in the future.
