Request that the Board waive the $700.00 campaign finance late fee assessed against Lenar L. Whitney, in her capacity as a candidate for Lt. Governor in the October 14, 2023 election, whose 180-P campaign finance disclosure report was filed 7 days late. |
|
Lenar L. Whitney requests a waiver and states the following:
Her campaign recognized its status as a "state-wide" campaign in her December 31 filing requirement. All the activities dealing with organizational receipts and expenses that were conducted in the Spring of 2022 were listed. There weren't any accounting items in the Summer or Fall of 2022. Furthermore, she didn't have any campaign activity during the 180-P period in question. Her campaign was non-existent since the summer of 2022. Ms. Whitney acknowledges this does not excuse her late filing, but she hopes the Board understands the misconception she had about the zero-activity campaign's requirement to stay on top of filing rules. Ms. Whitney would like to request that the fee be waived.
