RE:
Untimely request that the Board waive the $1,600 campaign finance late fee assessed against Women on the Move, a political committee, and its chairperson, Roberta Brown, for the March 24, 2018 Election, whose 10-P campaign finance report was filed 8 days late.
Facts:
Roberta Brown, Chairperson for Women On The Move, (WotM), states the following: Initially, the organization decided not to participate in the 2022 election. After numerous calls from candidates and the community, they decided to participate, which was after the initial reporting period. All subsequent reports were filed timely. Angela Scott spoke with a Board of Ethics representative on 8/16/2023 and was told to write a letter detailing the events for said election. It is understood that filing is due upon participation in an election. Ms. Brown would like to ask that the Board consider this explanation and that they did follow the guidelines.
