RE:
Request that the Board waive the $520.00 campaign finance late fee assessed against Bonnie Clements, an unsuccessful candidate for Council Member, District 11, St. Tammany Parish, in the November 8, 2022 election, whose Special campaign finance disclosure report was filed 13 days late.
Facts:
Bonnie Clements requests a waiver and states the following: This is her first occurrence and first time running for office. She has always contacted BOE when seeking guidance in filing reports. She believed that her reports were all filed timely. Ms. Clements was unaware that she was required to file the SPEC report between the primary election and the run-off election in the fall of 2022. She mentions it was not a failure to disclose an expense since it was on the 10-G report. The CF reporting process is complicated and she did her best to stay compliance.
