RE:
Request that the Board waive the $720 campaign finance late fee assessed against Charles R. Guillory, a successful candidate for Evangeline Parish Sheriff in the October 14, 2023 election, whose 30-P campaign finance disclosure report was filed 12 days late.
Facts:
Charles R Guillory requests a waiver and states the following: He spoke with a BOE representative on 9/26/2023 who explained that although he created the report he did not hit the submit button. Therefore, it was filed untimely. Initially, he didn't realize he needed to file the 30-P since he ran unopposed. Mr. Guillory thought he didn't need to file a report until 02/14/2024. Please note that this is his first time requesting a waiver.
