Consideration of suggestions for legislation for the 2024 Legislative Session.
Facts:
A document of proposed legislation was considered by the Louisiana Board of Ethics at its January 5, 2024 meeting, which is attached to this agenda item. At that meeting, the Board instructed staff to draft a letter to the oversight committees regarding those suggestions that the Board wanted to pursue in 2024. The draft of that letter will be provided prior to the meeting.
Comments:
R.S. 42:1134J provides that the Louisiana Board of Ethics "shall make recommendations to the governor and the legislature for revisions in the Code of Governmental Ethics and other legislation relating to the conduct of public servants and other persons subject to the provisions of this Chapter who are within its jurisdiction."
