William "Johnny" Armentor is an elected member of the Jennings City Council. His son is Jarrid Armentor.
The Way Training Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in Crowley, which is overseen by the Board of Directors for Northside Assembly of God Church ("Northside"). Northside is under the director of Pastor Gerard Morgan. In 2020, The Way Training Center announce plans to open a corresponding center for women.
In October 2023, The Way Training Center located a possible facility at 203 S. Louise Street in Jennings. The building was previously zoned as commercial; however, the building would need to be rezoned for The Way Training Center. The purchase agreement between The Way Training Center and Acadiana Cares is contingent on the ability of the ministry to have the property rezoned to Residential Home Living. As such, Acadiana Cares submitted an application for rezoning of the property.
On January 9, 2024, The Way Training Center presented its rezoning proposal to the Jennings Zoning Board and the City Council. An ordinance was introduced to approve the rezoning application.
Jarrid Armentor is the son of Johnny Armentor. Jarrid was hired by The Way Training Center in 2020. Just prior to the January 9th vote, Jarrid Armentor resigned his employment to prevent a possible conflict with his father, Johnny Armentor, voting on the Jennings City Council.
On February 13, 2024, the rezoning application was approved by the City Council.
