Request that the Board waive the $1,000.00 campaign finance late fee assessed against Emily Fenet Parker, in her capacity as an unsuccessful candidate for Police Juror, District 8, Calcasuieu Parish, in the October 14, 2023 election, whose 10-G campaign finance disclosure report was filed 33 days late.
Facts:
Emily Fenet Parker requests a waiver and states the following: She received a late fee notice for what she believed to be the 10-P report. She spoke to a BOE representative concerning the notice and was informed that she had submitted the 10-P, but the final 10-G was delinquent. The report was completed within an hour of finding out. Before this report submission, Ms. Parker was unaware she could file electronically. She would like to ask for forgiveness for this oversight. She has never missed a filing or filed untimely and will acquire help filing her reports to avoid this mishap. Please waive the assessed late fee.

18:1505.4.A(1) Any candidate, the treasurer or chairman of a political committee, or any other person required to file any reports under this Chapter, who knowingly fails to file or who knowingly fails to timely file any such reports as are required by this Chapter may be assessed a civil penalty for each day until such report is filed.
