RE:
Waiver request submitted by Channing Hamad Washington, successful candidate for Board of Aldermen Town of Marion (Pop. 623) / Union Parish in the November 8, 2022 election, regarding a $500 late fee assessed for filing his amended 2021 Tier 3 candidate pfd 426 days late and regarding a $500 late fee assessed for filing his 2022 Tier 3 annual pfd 175 days late.
Facts:
Channing Washington filed the 2021 and 2022 disclosures late. He believed his paperwork was correct until he received a letter stating that he received money from UPSO, which was only read partially. He is new to this situation and is now aware of how important this process is. Mr. Washington is asking for understanding and would like to request a waiver of the assessed late fee.
