Waiver request submitted by James Artez Jones, an unsuccessful candidate for Police Juror / District 4 / Jackson Parish in the October 14, 2023 election, regarding a $500 late fee assessed for failing to file his amended 2022 Tier 3 candidate pfd. |
|
James Artez Jones stated that he is blind and had someone help him complete the disclosure. He stated that person put his estranged wife's name on the form, but that he has been separated from his wife, Lisa B. Jones, for 25 years. He tried to obtain Lisa's financial records from her job, but his attempts have been unsuccessful so far. He reached out to the Jackson Parish School Board Superintendent and the Jackson Parish School Board payroll, but he hasn't received a return call even after leaving multiple voicemails. Mr. Jones also tried to get proof of income from Lisa, but he was unable to do so. He would like to ask that the Board does not hold him accountable for something beyond his control and is open to suggestions. Mr. Jones would like to thank you for your consideration and request a waiver of the assessed late fee.
