Request to reconsider the Board's decision to decline to waive a $2500 late fee assessed against Linda Rasberry Smith, unsuccessful candidate for Caddo Parish School Board / District 7, in the November 8, 2022 election, for filing her 2021 Tier 2 candidate pfd 124 days late. |
|
Linda Rasberry Smith is the sole caretaker for her mother (age 90) and brother (age 69) with round-the-clock personal care medical needs, transportation, food, schedule management, and much more. Her mother is an insulin dependent diabetic, with congestive heart failure, high blood pressure, and kidney failure. Her mobility is extremely dependent. Her brother has a seizure disorder and is recovering from a stroke and severe wound care treatment. Ms. Smith could not afford to hire an account manger and the campaign requests and requirements have been a learning experience. She was the manager of the entire campaign in the race for Caddo Parish School District 7 and this was her 1st time running for office. Ms. Smith's ability to deliver prompt responses and follow up on prior correspondence has been extremely limited. She would like to humbly ask that you waive the late fee.
