Request to reconsider the Board's decision to decline to waive a $2500 late fee assessed against Raphineas Gerald "Ray" Riley, candidate for Council Member / City of Denham Springs / Livingston Parish, in the November 8, 2022 election, for filing his amended 2021 Tier 2 candidate pfd 363 days late. |
|
No new information has been provided.
Initial Information:
Raphineas "Ray" Riley received a notice stating that he had to go to the post office for a certified letter. However, he chose to speak with a BOE representative instead, who sent him a copy of the letter. Upon receiving it, he noticed that someone outside of his household had signed the green card. The date and time it was signed was while everyone in his household was either at work or school. He was completely unaware of the notice until he spoke with the representative. Additionally, he was not aware that his employment with the EBR School System should be listed under the political income category. Due to these reasons, he would like to request a waiver. It was not an instance of willful neglect on his part, and had he known about the notice, he would have submitted the disclosure in a timely manner.
