Advisory Opinion request as to whether the Code of Governmental Ethics ("Code") permits Christopher Huddleston to work part-time as an Assistant District Attorney for Lafourche Parish while also serving as the Town Attorney and Prosecutor for the Town of Lockport.
Facts:
Christopher Huddleston currently serves as the town attorney and prosecutor for the Town of Lockport, Louisiana, a Lawrason Act municipality. He was appointed as town attorney by Mayor Barry Plaisance and the appointment was confirmed by the town council. The town council further appointed him as the town prosecutor for the town's Mayor's Court. Both positions, town attorney and prosecutor, are part-time appointed positions. Mr. Huddleston is considering taking an employed position with the Lafourche Parish District Attorney's Office as an Assistant District Attorney.
