RE:
Request that the Board waive the $1680.00 campaign finance late fee assessed against,Vance Olivier, a successful candidate for Chief of Police, City of Broussard, Lafayette & St. Martin Parishes, in a future election, whose 2023 Annual campaign finance disclosure report was filed 28 days late.
Facts:
Vance Olivier is submitting a request and states the following: This was Mr. Vance Olivier's first year in office, and he did not realize the time deadline. He had the date for his PFD, which was due in May, and assumed a reminder letter would be mailed to him. When speaking to chiefs in his area, he was reminded of the deadline after it had passed. Mr. Olivier assures that this mishap will not happen again. He would appreciate your consideration to waive this late fee being as though it was an honest mistake.
