Request that the Board waive the (2) $2,000 and $2,000 campaign finance late fees assessed against Corey Smith, an unsuccessful candidate for Councilman, Metro District 12, East Baton Rouge Parish, in the November 8, 2016 election, whose 10-P & 10-G campaign finance disclosure reports were filed 436 and 406 days late, respectively.
AND
Request that the Board waive the (3) $2,000.00, $1,260 and, $2,000 campaign finance late fees (total $5,260.00) assessed against Corey Smith, an unsuccessful candidate for Councilman / Metro District 6 in the November 3, 2020 election, whose 30-P, 10-P (inaccurate filing), and 10-G campaign finance reports were filed 21, 365 & 1,325 days late, respectively. |

Corey Smith requests a waiver and states the following: Mr. Smith was notified of the late fee assessments, and he worked with BOE representatives to submit the reports. His parents passed away in late 2016, which resulted in him not filing the reports on time. In 2020, he moved to a new residence at the beginning of the election season. Although the
secretary of state updated his address, he failed to do the same with the BOE. So, he did not receive any communications regarding the assessed fines.
