Ms. Charpentier currently serves as an elected member of the Lafourche Parish School Board. She is also a self-employed sole proprietor and enrolled full time in college. The Council for a Better Louisiana ("CABL") was founded in 1962 with the mission of improving the quality of life for all citizens of Louisiana.
CABL is a nonprofit, nonpartisan statewide organization that works on issues in the public interest. It does this by raising citizen awareness, advancing sound public policies, holding government accountable, and fostering civic leadership. Ms. Charpentier has been accepted to the Leadership Louisiana Class of 2025. Leadership Louisiana is a program of CABL. Participants in Leadership Louisiana make a one-year commitment to six two-day sessions. Participation in the program is open to all citizens of the state. CABL offers the Leadership Louisiana program to professionals across the state in multiple sectors.
Ms. Charpentier is a graduate of the Leadership Lafourche Program, offered through Lafourche Chamber of Commerce, for which she received financial assistance as a small business/self-funded participant. The state program is the next step to further knowledge of state business, economic and political structure and programs. Ms. Charpentier wants to apply for a scholarship/financial assistance to attend the Leadership Louisiana Class of 2025. Tuition for the program is $3,400. Most participants fees are covered by their employers. Lafourche Parish School District is not sponsoring Ms. Charpentier's attendance. CABL offers an $800 scholarship/grant for employees of small non-profit organizations and small business owners with financial need. Ms. Charpentier is not aware of any contractual, financial or other business relationship between the Lafourche Parish School Board and CABL.
