Waiver request submitted by Wayne McCarthy, Jr., candidate for Councilman / District A / St. Bernard Parish, in the October 14, 2023 election, regarding a $600 late fee assessed for filing his amended 2022 Tier 2 candidate pfd 6 days late. |
|
In late December, Wayne McCarthy, Jr. underwent a toe amputation, which was followed by numerous medical appointments and significant recovery time. Medical expenses have caused a financial burden. Additionally, he and his family were moving into their rebuilt home after losing it in the 2022 tornado, which further impacted his ability to meet deadlines. Unfortunately, Mr. McCarthy incorrectly noted the deadline for submitting the amended form. He takes full responsibility for the oversight. However, given the mentioned circumstances, he kindly requests your understanding and consideration in waiving the late fee.
