RE:
Request that the Board waive the $1,600.00 campaign finance late fee assessed against Baker Donelson LA PAC, a political action committee, its chairperson, Gregory E. Bodin, and treasurer, Phyllis G. Cancienne, whose January 2024 Monthly campaign finance disclosure report was filed 8 days late.
Facts:
Gregory Bodin, chairperson for Baker Donelson LA PAC request a waiver and states the following: The report was generated on 2/8/2024, but a technical glitch prevented it from being uploaded on time. As usual, the report copies were distributed to the PAC officers since it was believed that the report was uploaded. The office coordinator did not detect the technical failure until 2/20/2024, when she logged onto the BOE portal and realized the report had not been submitted. The report retained in their files is identical to the one resubmitted and confirmed as received on 2/20/2024. Due to the reasons mentioned and don't believe the PAC should been assessed a late fee.
