RE:
Request that the Board waive the $3,000.00 and $800.00 for a total of $3,800.00 campaign finance late fees assessed against CENLA Strong Political Action Committee, a political action committee, and its committee's chairperson, Robert Ratcliff, in the November 5, 2024 election whose, 30-P and 10-P campaign finance disclosure reports were filed 28 and 7 days late, respectively.
Facts:
Christina Hathorn, former compliance officer for the CENLA PAC, requests a waiver and states the following: Jimmy Burland failed to inform them of the filing deadline. Due to legal issues, he no longer handled reporting without the PAC's knowledge. Once the PAC was made aware, they immediately contacted another compliance officer and filed the required reports that day. They have put measures in place to ensure this does not occur in the future.
