- Staff filed one Objection to Candidacy lawsuit following the qualifying period that ended on Jan. 31, 2025:
Docket No. 7125-001 - Charles L. Gray, a candidate for Bossier Parish Council, District 3; the 26th JDC issued a Judgment of Disqualification based on Mr. Gray owing $2,500 in outstanding late fees to the Board at the time of qualifying.
- IT Staff and the Campaign Finance staff are currently creating the necessary forms to address the newly created party primary elections and additional campaign finance requirements enacted during the 2024 Legislative Session. In connection with the increased workload, Staff requested two additional IT positions in the 2025-2026 budget to handle the implementation and management of the additional filings. That request was denied. Staff will seek to address the need for those positions before the Appropriations Committee on April 1st.
- From Feb. 1st to Feb. 20th, the Board received approximately 1,500 campaign finance reports in connection with the Feb. 15th filing deadline. Staff is currently processing the reports for compliance.
- April 4th meeting at Southern University - A meeting room is available; Staff will verify whether it is adequate by Mar. 7th.

- Annual Training Requirements:
- Ethics Training - Staff will set a date to perform in-person training for 2025 at a future meeting.
- Preventing Sexual Harassment Training - Staff will coordinate a date to have Civil Service perform training at a future meeting.
