John Robert Johnson is serving on the Morehouse Parish School Board. He is new to the requirements and deadlines and has a full-time job requiring much of his time. Mr. Johnson is a supervisor for a manufacturing company. For the last two weeks of September, they were planning and scheduling an outage for the first week of October, which demanded a lot of attention. Additionally, he attends sporting events nightly throughout the week. Occasionally, e-mails and reminders slip through the cracks, and the submission due date was one of those occasions. Mr. Johnson is using this situation as a learning experience and would appreciate your consideration of waiving this late.

La. R.S. 42:1119B(2)(a)(iii) by September fifteenth of each school year, any school board member or superintendent whose immediate family member is employed by the school board shall file a disclosure statement with the Board of Ethics stating the facts of such employment. Any person who fails to timely file a disclosure statement under this Item may be assessed a late fee of fifty dollars per day, not to exceed one thousand five hundred dollars, subject to the provisions of R.S. 42:1157.
