Request that the Board waive the $2,500 campaign finance late fees assessed against Lakeisha Jefferson, an unsuccessful candidate for Judge, Civil District Court, Domestic Section 2, Orleans Parish in the November 3, 2020 election, whose 2024 supplemental campaign finance disclosure reports was filed 147 days late. |

Aneatra Boykin, on behalf of Lakeisha Jefferson, requests a wavier and states the following: Ms. Jefferson was an unsuccessful candidate during the 2020 election, with a campaign balance of less than $700. She was unaware that such circumstances still triggered an ongoing filing obligation. This misunderstanding persisted until her successful, unopposed candidacy in the March 2024 election brought the previous commitments to light. Ms. Jefferson never received notice of any outstanding requirements. She regrets this oversight. Please waive or reduce the assessed late fee.
