Request that the Board waive the $420.00 campaign finance late fee assessed against Michael "Mike" Irvin Wilson, an unsuccessful candidate for Natchitoches Parish Sheriff in the October 14, 2023 election, whose 2024 Supplemental campaign finance disclosure report was filed 9 days late. |
|
Michael Wilson requests a waiver and states the following:
There were several illnesses in his family and events that impacted his timely filing. He was caring for several elderly family members, including his father, for whom he is the sole caregiver. His father was hospitalized in January 2025. In addition, his wife is a disabled veteran who requires many doctor visits. Mr. Wilson drives her to appointments. These events consumed his attention, and he missed the deadline. He has since taken steps to ensure all future filings will be completed on time. Mr. Wilson values the importance of transparency and compliance with ethical standards and regrets the inconvenience this delay may have caused.
