| Request that the Board waive the $3,000.00 campaign finance late fee assessed against Your Vote Counts, a political action committee and its committee's chairperson, Carlos Jackson, whose 2023 Annual campaign finance disclosure report was filed 337 days late. |
|
Carlos Jackson, Chairperson for Your Vote Counts PAC requests a waiver and states the following: This was their first time operating a political PAC, and it was only for one election. Inexperience contributed to the misunderstanding. They believed the person handling compliance matters was submitting all required reports on their behalf and did not realize that filings were still needed after activity ceased and a small surplus remained. Immediate action was taken to rectify the situation after being made aware. They understand this does not excuse the delay, but hopefully it demonstrates their commitment to correcting the error once discovered. The PAC is no longer active, and steps have been taken to ensure this does not happen again. This fine represents a financial hardship.
