| Untimelyrequest that the Board reconsider its decision to decline to waive a $1,800 campaign finance late fee assessed against Revitalize Northeast Louisiana PAC, a political action committee, and its committee's chairperson, Mary Cruz Berzoza, whose 2023 August Monthly campaign finance disclosure report was filed 9 days late. |
|
Original request stated:
Mary Cruz Berzoza, committee chairperson for Revitalize Northeast Louisiana PAC, requests a waiver and states the following: Due to Ms. Berzoza's teenage son being sick, there was an oversight because she believed her office had submitted the report. When she reviewed the filing schedule and spoke to a BOE representative, she thought the report had been filed.
Reconsideration states:
Ms. Berzoza submitted the reports in her capacity as an employee at the Earl Law Firm, as directed by attorney Ashley Earl (also her then-fiance'). She ended her employment and engagement in December 2023.
