RE:
Request to waive the $200 late fee assessed against Brett Michelin for filing his 2026 lobbying registration 7 days late.
Facts:
Mr. Michelin holds the title of Senior Director, State Government Affairs at the Association for Accessible Medicines and states he had no lobbying activity at the Executive, Legislative, or Local level in January 2026. He states his original Louisiana Executive and Legislative registration contained a typo; the registration should have listed 3/1/2026 as his start date.

Lobbying Staff Notes: Since Mr. Michelin entered 1/1/2026 as his first action date, payment is due within (5) days. A lobbyist can pay in advance for a registration and enter a future first action date, but not a retroactive one without a possible fine being assessed.
