Meiners as the trial <br /> attorneys in this natter, With Jessica T, Meiners serving as lead trial attorney, <br /> Ill. <br /> BACKGROUND INFORMATION, <br /> 1. <br /> Lockport. Volunteer Fire Company `{L F ") was registered as a nog.-profit corporation <br /> with the Louisiana Secretary of State on June 1, 1942, The original LVFC charter states, "The <br /> objects and purposes of this Company are to protect and save all property in the village of Lockport <br /> and the surrounding; community of the Parish of Lafourche from loss by fire or other calamity" <br /> and `oto promote the material welfare of the State of Louisiana J" <br /> . <br /> LVFC is governed by a board of directors comprised of a President, vice president, <br /> secretary. treasurer, six station members, and four members at large. The hoard members and the <br /> fire chief are elected-annually by the general membership of L 'F . LVFU s hoard members, fire <br /> chief,and general members are all volunteer firefighters who do not receive compensation for their <br /> service. <br /> 3. <br /> The Lafourche Parish Police Jury, now the Lafourche Parish Conned, created the <br /> Lafourche Parish Fire Protection District No. 2 ("Fire District "')by adopting a.resolution on May <br /> Page 2 of 9 (Agency Tracking No. 2023-882) <br />
