The compensated employees of TDVFD qualify <br /> for and indeed are paid state supplemental <br /> payments pursuant to the provisions of <br /> LSA- R.S.33:2002. <br /> Q. TDVFD is funded, in part, by fire protection <br /> insurance premiums distributed to fire protection <br /> districts and departments pursuant to <br /> LSA- R.S.22:1585. <br /> R. Acquisitions of goods and services by TDVFD <br /> are exempt from the payment of state and parish <br /> sales taxes. <br /> S. Vehicles owned by TDVFD are equipped with <br /> public license plates. <br /> 11. <br /> The Chief Engineer for the TDVFD is in charge of the <br /> purchases of all equipment and the maintenance on such equipment. <br /> The Chief Engineer routinely discussed such purchases and orders <br /> with George Dyer, stating that he "very definitely" relied on Mr. <br /> Dyer's advice and that he was influenced on his purchasing <br /> decisions by Mr. Dyer's wisdom and experience including, but not <br /> limited to purchases made from FAS. <br /> 12. <br /> The President of the TDVFD stated that he discussed <br /> purchases with Mr. Dyer in the board room at meetings where <br /> decisions were being made on purchases and that Mr. Dyer would <br /> respond to all questions asked of him. He further stated that he <br /> believed Mr. Dyer was responding in his capacity as a member of <br /> the Operations Department of the TDVFD. <br /> ♦•S i <br />
