LOUISIANA BOARD OF ETHICS <br /> IN THE MATTER OF MAURICE BROWN CONSENT ORDER NO.: 2010-705 <br /> The Louisiana Board of Ethics("the Board"),after conducting a confidential investigation, <br /> pursuant to La. R.S.42:1141,finds the following in regards to Maurice Brown,former Mayor of the <br /> Town of White Castle, Louisiana. <br /> 1. <br /> Maurice Brown served as the Mayor of White Castle, from May 1993 to December 2010. <br /> 2. <br /> Maurice Brown, in November of 2008, and at a time when he served as the Mayor for the <br /> Town of White Castle, received something of economi value, to wit: tickets to a sporting event, <br /> from a federal informant posing as a representative o CIFER 5000, for or in consideration of <br /> services rendered or to be rendered to C1FER 5000, at a ime when CIFER 5000 sought to obtain a <br /> contractual or other business or financial relationship w th his agency, the Town of White Castle. <br /> 3. <br /> Maurice Brown,in October of 2009,and at a timewhen he served as the Mayor for the Town <br /> of White Castle, received something of economic value to wit: tickets to a sporting event, from a <br /> federal informant posing as a representative of CIFER 5000, for or in consideration of services <br /> rendered or to be rendered to CIFER. 5000, at a tim when CIFER 5000 sought to obtain a <br /> contractual or other business or financial relationship with his agency, the Town of White Castle. <br /> 4. <br /> Maurice Brown, in November of 2009, and at a time when he served as the Mayor for the <br /> Town of White Castle, received something of economic value, to wit: tickets to a sporting event, <br /> from a federal informant posing as a representative of CIFER 5000, for or in consideration of <br /> services rendered or to be rendered to CIFER 5000, at a time when CIFER 5000 sought to obtain a <br /> contractual or other business or financial relationship with his agency,the Town of White Castle. <br /> 5. <br /> Maurice Brown,in January of 2010,and at a.time when he served as the Mayor for the Town <br /> of White Castle,agreed to receive a thing of economic value to wit: a$500 monetary payment, for <br /> assisting CIFER 5000 in securing a contract with his agency,the Town of White Castle. <br /> Page 1,of 6 <br />
