LOUISIANA BOARD OF ETHICS <br /> CONSENT OPINION <br /> DATE: BD NO. 2021-334 <br /> RE: IN THE MATTER OF DERRELL MARTIN <br /> AND DARREN LEWIS <br /> CONSENT OPINION <br /> The Louisiana Board of Ethics(the`Board"),pursuant to the authority contained in La.R.S. <br /> 42:1141, conducted a confidential investigation concerning information that while Darren Lewis <br /> served as the Principal of the Walter Cohen College Prep Charter School, his sister's husband, <br /> Derrell Martin, was employed as a certified classroom teacher with the Charter School and <br /> subsequently promoted to the position of Athletic Director in derogation of La. R.S. 42:1119. <br /> On the basis of information obtained during the investigation, and with the concurrence of <br /> Derrell Martin,the Board now makes the following essential: <br /> I. <br /> PARTIES <br /> The Parties hereto are: <br /> Derrell Martin, a person of the full age of majority, domiciled in the Parish of <br /> Jefferson with a last known address of 691 S. Niagara Circle, Gretna, LA 70056- <br /> 2977; <br /> Darren Lewis, a person of the full age of majority, domiciled in the Parish of St. <br /> Bernard with a last known address of 2005 Aycock Street, Arabi, LA 70032-1422; <br /> and, <br /> The Louisiana Board of Ethics,a Louisiana State agency domiciled in East Baton <br /> Rouge Parish whose mailing address is P.O. Box 4368, Baton Rouge, Louisiana <br /> 70821. <br />
