Ethics Board Docket No. 2022-062 <br />Page 4 of 12 <br />Consultants, Inc., a Louisiana corporation ("Gurtler Bros."), as a home inspector. Beginning on <br />December 15, 2021, Mr. van der Meulen has served as a home inspector, operating through <br />Compass. <br />11. <br />On August 7, 2019 and October 24, 2019, Gurtler Bros. hosted CE seminars at which Fritz Gurtler, <br />another Gurtler Bros. employee, was the teacher. Mr. van der Meulen organized the materials for <br />those classes. Gurtler Bros. made payments to Mr. van der Meulen on August 9, 2019 and October <br />25, 2019 for a total of $787.22 in compensation to Mr. van der Meulen for compiling the materials <br />for those seminars. <br />12. <br />On March 1, 2019, the LSBHI approved an application submitted by Mr. van der Meulen to serve <br />as a classroom CE provider. <br />13. <br />On December 4, 2020, the LSBHI approved an application submitted by Mr. van der Meulen to <br />serve as a Live streaming CE provider. <br />14. <br />On May 13, 2021, July 14, 2021 and December 14, 2021, Mr. van der Meulen hosted CE seminars <br />at which he was the teacher. At those seminars, a total of 29 persons attended and paid Mr. van <br />der Meulen a total of $1,450. <br />If called to testify, each of Gordon Atwell and Ashley van der Meulen would state that they <br />did not intend to violate the Ethics Code, and believed that they were following standing practices <br />of LSBHI members. <br />
