If this matter proceeded to a public hearing before the Ethics Adjudicatory Board("FAB"), <br /> and the EAB found a violation of the Code of Governmental Ethics, the EAB could impose a fine <br /> of$10,000 for each violation of the Code. In this particular situation, it is the conclusion of the <br /> Board that the interest of the public would be served by. and the parties have agreed to, resolving <br /> this matter amicably through the publication of this Consent Opinion with the imposition of a civil <br /> penalty in the amount of five-hundred dollars ($500) against Alton McClinton. <br /> ORDER <br /> For the foregoing reasons: <br /> IT IS ORDERED that Alton McClinton violated La. R.S. 42:1 111(A)(t)by virtue of his <br /> solicitation and receipt of compensation totaling not less than $3,000 to which he was not duly <br /> entitled to solicit and receive, for the performance of hisjob duties and responsibilities as Building <br /> Inspector of.lefferson Parish Department of Building and Code Enforcement. <br /> IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the$500 civil penalty be and is here payable in six(6) <br /> equal monthly installments of$75 and one (1) monthly installment of$50, as set forth below. <br /> Failure to remit an installment payment on or below the due date results in all remaining <br /> installment payments becoming due and owcing immediately, installment payments shall be <br /> remitted as follows: <br /> May 1, 2023 $75 <br /> June 1,2023 $75 <br /> July 1,2023 $75 <br /> August 1, 2023 $75 <br /> September t, 2023 $75 <br /> October 1. 2023 $75 <br /> November 1, 2023 $50 <br /> Total $500 <br /> Page 6 of 9 <br />
