Ethics Board No. 2023-887 Page 6 of 8 agreed to, resolving this matter amicably through the publication of this Consent Opinion with the imposition of a $2,500.00 civil penalty against Holly Sanders. VI. ORDER: For the foregoing reasons: IT IS ORDERED that Holly Sanders, in her capacity as a candidate for the office of Lafayette Parish School Board Member, District 8, in the October 14, 2023 election, violated Section 1505.21(1) of the C.FDA by virtue of expending campaign funds to pay her wholly-owned business for work she personally performed on her campaign. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that a $2,500.00 civil penalty, payable to the Treasurer of the State of Louisiana, be imposed upon Holly Sanders and that in the event of a failure to pay, a suit may be filed to compel immediate payment of any balance due. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the $2,500.00 civil penalty be payable with an initial $250.00 payment due and owing by December 15,2024, and the remaining$2,250.00 civil penalty be payable in 30 consecutive, equal monthly payments of$75.00, beginning on January 15, 2025, and due each month thereafter on or before the 151h of the month, with the final monthly payment being $75.00. Failure to make one consecutive monthly payment of at least $75.00 will result in the entire remaining balance of the civil penalty becoming immediately due and owing. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that Holly Sander execute a Cogpssion of'Judgmenl for the $2,500.00 civil penalty as a condition to the payment plan and attached hereto as Exhibit "A."
