Ethics Board Docket No. 2022-698 <br /> Page 5 of 7 <br /> her duties as an employee of the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office. <br /> If this matter proceeded to a public hearing before the Ethics Adjudicatory Board("EAB"), <br /> and the EAB found a violation of the Ethics Code, the EAB could impose a fine of up to ten <br /> thousand dollars ($10,000)pursuant to La. R.S. 42:1153B. <br /> Here,the parties have agreed to resolve this matter amicably.Therefore,it is the conclusion <br /> of the BOE that the interests of the public and judicial efficiency would be served through the <br /> publication of this Consent Opinion with the BOE adopting the restitution paid to the West Baton <br /> Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office in the amount of$4,996.16. <br /> VI. <br /> ORDER <br /> For the foregoing reasons: <br /> IT IS ORDERED that Aimee Riviere, in her capacity as an employee of the West Baton <br /> Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office, violated La. R.S. 42:1111(A)(1)(a) by virtue of her receipt of <br /> payments totaling$4,996.16,which she was not duly entitled to receive for the performance of her <br /> duties as an employee of the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office. <br /> IT IS FURTHER ORDERED thati the restitution paid to the West Baton Rouge Parish <br /> Sheriff's Office in the amount of$4,996.16 is hereby adopted and no additional civil penalty is <br /> assessed in this matter. <br />
